LUAPULA WATER SUPPLY AND SANITATION COMPANY WINS BEST METERING RATIO AT NWASCO SECTOR AWARDS

Luapula Water Supply and Sanitation Company Limited (LpWSC) has been recognised with the Best Metering Ratio Award at the 2025 Water Supply and Sanitation Sector Awards, presented by the National Water Supply and Sanitation Council (NWASCO) on 27th April 2026 at the Mulungushi International Conference Centre.

The award was conferred during the official launch of the 2025 Water Supply and Sanitation Sector Report, officiated by the Honourable Minister of Water Development and Sanitation, Eng. Collins Nzovu. The recognition underscores LpWSC’s strong performance in metering, a key indicator used by NWASCO to assess efficiency, accountability, and service delivery among commercial utilities.

Metering plays a critical role in ensuring accurate billing, reducing non-revenue water, and promoting responsible water use. By attaining a high metering ratio, LpWSC has demonstrated its commitment to strengthening operational efficiency and improving customer confidence across its service areas.

The NWASCO Sector Awards are a key feature of the annual sector report launch, aimed at recognising outstanding performance and encouraging continuous improvement among water utilities in Zambia. LpWSC’s achievement places the utility among top-performing institutions in the country’s water supply and sanitation sector.

Speaking following the award, the company reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining high standards in service delivery and expanding access to clean water and safe sanitation across Luapula Province.

As LpWSC continues to implement strategic initiatives to improve infrastructure and service coverage, the recognition serves as both a milestone and a motivation to further enhance efficiency, transparency, and customer-focused service delivery.
