LpWSC PARTICIPATES IN 2026 UMUTOMBOKO TRADITIONAL CEREMONY

Luapula Water Supply and Sanitation Company Limited (LpWSC) today participated in the 2026 Umutomboko Traditional Ceremony in Mwansabombwe District, joining thousands of Zambians and visitors in celebrating the rich culture, history and heritage of the Lunda people.

The Company's delegation was led by Managing Director Mr. Mukela Simbuwa and Board Chairperson Mr.

Moses Silanda, supported by Management and staff. The ceremony provided LpWSC with an important platform to engage members of the public and various stakeholders while creating awareness about the Company's mandate, services and programmes.

As part of the day's activities, the LpWSC delegation paid a courtesy visit to His Royal Highness Mwata Kazembe at the Mwata Kazembe Palace. The engagement provided an opportunity for the Company to strengthen its relationship with the Lunda Kingdom and discuss matters relating to water supply and sanitation service delivery.

During the engagement, LpWSC presented a water dispenser and office cabinet to His Royal Highness as a gesture of goodwill. The discussions further highlighted the importance of continued engagement between the Company and traditional leadership in supporting efforts to expand access to clean water and safe sanitation.

LpWSC's participation in the Umutomboko Traditional Ceremony reflects the Company's continued commitment to stakeholder engagement, community outreach and collaboration with traditional leadership as it works to improve access to sustainable water supply and sanitation services across Luapula Province.

The Company remains committed to working with Government, traditional leaders, communities and other stakeholders towards clean water, safe sanitation and better health for all.
