Rose Nyirenda, Vice Chairperson of the ZIPS Luapula Chapter. The meeting, chaired by LpWSC Managing Director Mr. Mukela Simbuwa, was held at LpWSC’s Headquarters Board room in Mansa and focused on enhancing operational efficiency, staff capacity, and collaboration with key stakeholders.

During the discussions, Mr. Kabamba highlighted the importance of transparency, speed, and proper checks and balances in procurement processes. He explained that while procurement mechanisms in the sector are often fragmented, combining efforts across departments and stakeholders can increase efficiency and reduce operational frustrations.

He emphasized the need for robust compliance, accurate documentation, and integrated ICT systems, noting that disruptions in these areas can directly affect service delivery. He further underscored the importance of continuous training for procurement and supplies professionals, especially in supply chain management. Furthermore, he shared insights from other provinces to improve operational performance.

Concluding the meeting, Managing Director, Mr. Mukela Simbuwa thanked the officials for their guidance and the initiative. He requested that some staff training programs, which currently require travel to other provinces, also be hosted locally in Luapula to improve accessibility. He expressed appreciation for the visit and optimism about the positive impact these collaborative initiatives would have on service delivery in the province.
