Luapula Water, with the support of the government, has embarked on numerous transformative projects aimed at enhancing access to safe, clean, and high-quality water for the people of Luapula. Through these initiatives, we are strengthening water infrastructure, promoting sustainability, and improving service delivery to ensure every household and community benefits from a reliable and efficient water supply.

Construction of the Segmentation Tank in Chiengi District

The construction of a new segmentation tank in Chiengi District is currently underway, representing yet another major infrastructure development aimed at improving water and sanitation service delivery in the area. This critical project, fully funded by the government, is being implemented through Luapula Water Supply and Sanitation Company (LpWSC) as part of ongoing efforts to expand and modernize water infrastructure in rural districts. Once completed, the segmentation tank will play a vital role in enhancing water treatment processes by allowing for the effective separation and settlement of impurities before the water is distributed to the community.

Construction of the Chienge Water Storage Tank Underway

The construction of the Chienge Water Storage Tank is currently in progress and represents a key milestone in improving water supply infrastructure in the district. Construction of Nchelenge District Office Nearing Completion

The construction of the Nchelenge District Office is progressing steadily and is now nearing completion. This modern facility is expected to be handed over soon, marking a significant milestone in strengthening operations and service delivery in the district. Once completed, the new office will offer a functional and conducive working environment for staff, while serving as a central point for enhanced customer service.

Construction of Chiengi Water Treatment Filters

The construction of new water treatment filters in Chiengi District is currently underway, aimed at improving the quality of water supplied to the community. This project, funded by the government and implemented through Luapula Water Supply and Sanitation Company (LpWSC), will enhance the district’s water treatment capacity by effectively removing impurities and ensuring compliance with national water quality standards. Once completed, the filters will play a critical role in delivering clean and safe water to the people of Chiengi, reinforcing LpWSC’s mandate to provide reliable and sustainable water services across Luapula Province.

Samfya–Kabanga Elevated Storage Tank – Lot 1

Luapula Water Supply and Sanitation Company (LpWSC) is pleased to report the successful completion of the Samfya–Kabanga Elevated Storage Tank, constructed under Lot 1 of the Integrated Small Towns Water Supply and Sanitation Program. This critical infrastructure significantly improves water storage and pressure within the distribution network, enhancing supply reliability for communities in and around Samfya. The elevated design allows for gravity-fed distribution, ensuring more stable and efficient water delivery to households and institutions.

Samfya Water Treatment Plant – Enhancing Water Access in Luapula

As part of the Integrated Small Towns Water Supply and Sanitation Project (ISTWSSP) – LOT 1, Luapula Water and Sanitation Company Limited (LpWSC) successfully completed the construction of the Samfya Water Treatment Plant (WTP). This strategic infrastructure project is a significant milestone aimed at improving access to clean and safe drinking water for the residents of Samfya town and surrounding communities. The modern facility includes advanced water treatment technologies designed to meet growing demand, ensure water quality, and support public health.

New LpWSC Headquarters Office – Lot 3

Luapula Water Supply and Sanitation Company (LpWSC) is pleased to announce the successful completion of the Headquarters Office – Lot 3, constructed under the Integrated Small Towns Water Supply and Sanitation Program. The facility is now fully operational and currently housing core administrative and management functions of the company. Since completion, LpWSC staff have transitioned into the new headquarters, which now serves as the central hub for strategic planning, decision-making, and overall coordination of water supply and sanitation operations across Luapula Province.

New LpWSC Mansa District Office – Lot 1

Luapula Water Supply and Sanitation Company (LpWSC) is pleased to announce the completion of the Mansa District Office – Lot 1, constructed under the Integrated Small Towns Water Supply and Sanitation Program. The new facility is now fully functional and has been in active use since April 2025. The Luapula District staff have since assumed full operations from the new building, which now serves as the central point for customer service and administrative functions in Mansa.
